This new game introduces players to Master Chief a SPARTAN-II super soldier and his AI companion Cortana. Storyline begins when UNSC Pillar of Autumn crashes into a mysterious world known as Halo. Player has to navigate across different terrains battling the alien Covenant and uncovering the secrets of the Halo installation.

Gameplay in Halo: Combat Evolved combines first-person shooting mechanics with vehicular Combat offering a seamless experience whether on foot or in vehicles. Players may drive warthog pilot Banshees and operate Scorpion tanks switching to a third-person view while using vehicles. The arsenal of The game contains a wide variety of weapons each with specific uses and tactical advantages making combat dynamic and strategic. The motion tracker recharging energy shields and various enemy types add layers of complexity to The game’s gameplay.

One of the games standout features is its multiplayer mode which supports up to 16 players via System Link on the original Xbox One. In This multiplayer mode there are various game types like Capture the Flag Slayer and King of the Hill across multiple maps. Although the Xbox version did not initially support online play the PC version added this capability along with new maps and new features.
