Klondike Solitaire is probably the most widely played version of Solitaire and the most well-known. The game is played using a single 52-card deck and The objective is to build four foundation piles one for each suit in ascending order from Ace to King. The game begins in seven columns with The number of cards in each column increasing from one to seven and only The top card of each column facing up.

Players may move the cards between the columns of the tableau to form descending sequences in alternating colors. Cards can be drawn from the stockpile either one at a time or three at a time depending on the version being played to help build these sequences. If the card is moved to the foundation pile it cannot be moved back to the tableau. When all cards are successfully moved to The foundation piles The game is won.
